Summer has officially began in the Henderson home. Last week was Joshs first week off since the end of school. We have many exciting things geared up for summer and last week we started off with a friends wedding in Blacksburg, VA.
Congratulations Becca & Isaac! It was a joy seeing all of our friends in one place again... I love weddings for the simple fact that it brings people together. It literally joins the bride & groom together in a marriage covenant and also brings people from all over to celebrate the union.
We arrived home from the wedding and geared up for a week of volunteering at the CAMP- a sports & arts camp our church, along with other churches and organizations, put on for children in Young Terrace (the project neighborhood here in Norfolk.) The week brought on a lot of heart ache and frustration, but was encouraging none the less. The neighborhood there is a such a broken place and it was truly amazing to see a community come together to fill Young Terrace with joy and laughter.
I was the "Movement" teacher along with one of my best friends Katie. We taught the kids a dance routine to Dynamite and my friend above, Campbell, couldn't get enough of it.
That is an update on our summer for now- stayed tuned for some DIY projects, apartment living home inspirations, and super simple recipes. For now, enjoy this Harlem Shake video I put together from the CAMP last week.
