First stop was the Big Apple.
We spent most of our time in Brooklyn where these photos were captured. New York is a really unique city, we certainly liked the city but definitely were not in love with it. It was fun to spend Josh's birthday in the city though!
Next stop was Charlton, MA. Which I am sure 99% of you have never heard of, but it is my Dad's hometown and I spent most summers on the lake at my Gramma's house there. We managed to stop by my grandparents graves and the best pizza I have ever had, Charlton House of Pizza.
After a lunch in Charlton, we continued to stop three where we would spend the next two days. One of my all time favorite places, Boston. We really love Boston. We saw a Red Sox game (which they won against the Yankees- woohoo!), walked part of the Freedom Trail (do we scream history teachers?), hung out at Boston Commons, and ate at a whole lobster at Yankee Lobster Company. Every moment was enjoyable there- even in the sweltering heat wave they were having!
Make Way for Ducklings!
(Can you tell I was a little nervous about eating that lobster?)
Next we stopped by Lake Saranac to visit a dear friend of mine, Megan. She is engaged to Evan who works at the Young Life Camp there. Megan and I met working as lifeguards together at Saranac, and I met so many other friends there as well. It was a joy to be back at a place that brings back so many warm memories.
Then we headed to our final destination; Montreal, QC, Canada. It was so much fun crossing the border and driving into Canada. It is seriously a whole different world up there! At least in Quebec where French is the official language (although most of the natives speak English!) Canadians are very friendly and the city was very enjoyable. I did not snap very many pictures besides the one of Napoleon below in La Musee des beaux-arts and the one of us on Mount Royal on our anniversary! July 24 marked two years for us and it was so much fun spending it in Montreal!
The trip was so fun for Josh and I, but after 1,750 miles,
we were glad to be back home with our favorite cat!
Check back next week for a fun DIY!
